We are staff and volunteers at the Ferro for Idaho campaign who have been hearing the concerns of renters all over Caldwell. Our Caldwell Renters speak project is specifically focused on gathering the stories of renters. Our goals are to:
Make the experience of renters more visible in our community.
Develop initiatives that will improve the lives of renters.
Impact renter's rights and other policy decisions.

Stories
Rents have doubled in the last 10 years. People who were living comfortably until recently are now struggling.
Eviction filings and evictions are trending up.
When property taxes skyrocketed for homeowners (due to the legislature) the legislature eventually listened to homeowners and took action.
The legislature should take action to protect renters (1/3 of the people of Idaho) from skyrocketing costs as well.
